HPC has announced the sale of Burnside Care Ltd, which operates a hospital in Market Weighton, to Craegmoor.

Specialist healthcare property consultant HPC has announced the sale of Burnside Care Ltd, which operates a hospital in Market Weighton, to Craegmoor.

Craegmoor is one of the leading independent providers of support for people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and mental illnesses, as well as older people and already supports around 4,000 people across the UK. The company has acquired Burnside Care in order to increase the high quality service provision for people in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Located in the picturesque town of Market Weighton, the hospital was purpose built in 2007 utilising state-of-the-art design to deliver the highest standards of support for people with learning disabilities and is focused on supporting individuals to move towards living a more independent and fulfilled life.

Ian Wilkie, Director of HPC, who handled the sale commented, “Burnside Care is an exceptional facility which has been developed by a very experienced management team. The process attracted a significant amount of interest and a number of offers from trade and private equity investors. We are delighted that in conjunction with our clients’ legal team at Freeth Cartwright, we were able to complete the deal with Craegmoor in less than 7 weeks from signing of Heads of Terms.” Mr Wilkie added, “The interest in this facility demonstrates there is still a keen appetite in the sector for services offering good assets coupled with strong management.”
