We are delighted for our client, Barcroft Estates, that Rushmoor Borough Council planning committee have supported the planning officers recommendation to grant planning permission for a proposed 66 bed care home on the site of Devereux House, Farnborough.
Committee Report – Rushmoor Borough Council“…the applicant has provided a Care Home Need Assessment to support the application, which seeks to demonstrate that there is an unmet need for care bedspaces in the Borough in assessing the supply of specialist care home provision in the Borough against statistical demand. The Assessment concludes that there is currently an outstanding need for 119 care bed spaces in the Borough of Rushmoor, which is forecast to increase to 177 by 2030.”
We are delighted for our client, Barcroft Estates, that Rushmoor Borough Council planning committee have supported the planning officers recommendation to grant planning permission for a proposed 66 bed care home on the site of Devereux House, Farnborough.
The proposal will bring this vacant property and former care home back into meaningful use, meeting an identified unmet need for new care beds in the area whilst retaining the existing historic facade as part of the proposed development.
Resolution to grant planning permission was forthcoming at the Development Management Committee on 23rd April 2026.
