HPC hosted a networking brunch seminar in London in association with HgCapital and Caring Times on 15th September 2011.
The event was held at HgCapital's offices overlooking Tower Bridge and attracted a good turnout from many well known operators in the sector. In addition to HPC Director Ian Wilkie, speakers included Bruce McKendrick, CEO of Voyage, Lindsay Dibden, Partner at HgCapital and James Ranger of Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. The challenging economic climate and adverse publicity affecting the sector created an interesting backdrop to the event, but the speakers agreed that there were undoubtedly good opportunities in specialist care provision, provided the quality of service and assets were high. New models of care were considered, bridging the gap between supported living and traditional residential care and the learning disability sector identified as being ripe for consolidation.
